Kindness 

​Our Kindness program is 100% supported by the TJE PTA. The PTA pays a stipend for our Kindness Coordinator who creates a year-long curriculum, stocks and organizes supplies, and trains and works with volunteer docents.  We strive to promote a culture of kindness on campus and throughout our larger community.

Every class receives one Kindness lesson per month taught in the classroom by a volunteer docent. These lessons focus on Kindness traits such as: respect, authenticity, gratitude, and empathy. Kindness lessons are created to help  students think about and apply the kindness traits to their classroom, the playground, and the greater community.

Grades TK-3rd receive a Kindness passport to celebrate the lessons they have completed, and grades 4-6 have Kindness journals where they draw and write as they learn more about the Kindness traits. All students have an opportunity to receive Bear paw stickers for acts of Kindness that staff observe!
